Penny

“Our ShihPoo Penny has learned so much from Jennifer's training. She knows her place when the doorbell rings, she walks with us instead of out for a drag, and does not run into the street as before. Jennifer is an excellent trainer who cares about proper training with love and understanding of the animal. Our Penny loves to see her and listens well when Jennifer gives her a command. We have learned from Jennifer how we can communicate with our dog to have a wonderful experience with a loving pet. I recommend her highly with her expert training and methods.”  Diana , PA

“Jennifer has so many different strategies to help the dog learn or when we get stuck on getting the dog to do certain things. She has a great way with the dog and he truly responds to her commands. Then we work with her support and guidance doing the same thing with our German Shepherd . It has been a terrific education for us and our dog. “ Jeff and Debbie, MD

“Needed help with my dog wanting to chase cars and/or birds while on a walk in the front yard or simply down the street. Situation had become very dangerous which resulted in back yard walks only. When my 2nd dog was added, it was impossible. Jen within a very short time retrained my dogs and me on the "watch" or "look" command and proper lease walking. Unbelievable results. Like new dogs. Great walks. All more calm and safe.”  Barb, PA

“Jennifer provided training for our basset...she has provided effective methods to deal with fear/agression toward larger dogs. Our dog absolutely loves her and she will vary her training methods based upon the dogs learning/personality.”  Jennifer, PA

Roxy

“We called Jenn in to help with our highly reactive bully mix Roxy. She had become increasingly reactive when visitors would come to our home. She would bark and lunge at them.  We had to place her in the basement if we wanted to have anyone over.

We went with the 4 day travel train option and Jenn and Blaze came to our home in SC.

Jenn was absolutely incredible she just knows dogs and explained it was similar to a panic attack and how this behavior was based in fear and over excitement. We videoed each lesson and Jenn would analyze each video and this helped us tremendously.

We couldn’t believe how in just 4 days Jenn made such a significant improvement in Roxy’s life and in our Lifestyle.

We learned Roxy’s Subtle signals that she had enough and were able to help her make better choices and she became a well mannered member of our family and we became social again!!”  Dave and Jessica, SC

Ivy

“I contacted Jenn after working with other trainers and behaviorists because of my dog’s extreme behavioral issues. Jenn was able to immediately identify the source of our dog’s behavior as fear-based. We hired her to do a behavior modification workshop with us and from the beginning we saw changes in our dog’s behavior. Jenn gave us the tools and skills we needed to address our dog’s behaviors and work on managing and modifying them. She genuinely cares about helping dogs become balanced and teaching owners how to work with their pets. The services Jenn provides are invaluable. We went from having a dog that we were considering having euthanized to a dog that now makes good choices and that we can take anywhere (even out to eat!). I would recommend Jenn and Blaze to anyone who has a dog with behavioral issues.
Hiring Jenn was the best decision we ever made in relation to our dog and getting help for managing her behaviors.” Nicole and Ryan, VA

Dante

“Jenn loves what she does and you can see it in every way that she treats our dog and we have grown quite fond of her as she has become like a member of the family. Most importantly our dog, who is quite headstrong, has become a good citizen and Jenn has brought out the best in our dog. She has seen his potential (toy poodles are very smart) and she has helped him to meet that potential and has become a wonderful pet in our home. Bottom line is that Jennifer is an outstanding teacher of our dog and us.”  Alice and Steve, PA

Klaus

“We worked with Jennifer Lavelle and highly recommend her as a dog trainer and animal behavior specialist. Our dog was 18 months old and had a very difficult time adjusting to his new house (we moved the month before) and surrounding area.

After displaying sever anxiety and territorial/aggressive behavior towards dogs and people on several occasions and failed training attempts with the best trainers in NY we reached out to Jennifer as a desperate last attempt to train him. She dropped everything and came to our house within the week for 4 days of training. Jennifer was EXTREMELY effective – within MINUTES she demonstrated drastic improvement with Our dog.

It was an absolute miracle! She was very tuned in to behavior ‐ stern while being extremely sweet and nurturing – absolutely no harmful methods used. Our dog is now 2 years old and has been a wonderful addition to our family especially with our daughter.

She kisses him on the nose and he never gets upset! He no longer lunges or growls at landscapers, the mail man, or any strangers walking by and gets along with all children and other dogs. He is confident and all anxiety is a thing of the past. We are truly grateful for Jennifer and would not know what we would have done without her training.

She was extremely professional and trustworthy with our home, our dog, and with our daughter. She reaches out to check on his progress and reiterate training techniques regularly. Jennifer was a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend her for any job.” K and W, NY

Caleb

“After nearly a year and a half of searching for a service dog trainer we were referred to Jennifer. We were looking for a Crohns Alert dog for our 10 yr old son.

When we met with Jennifer she explained in great detail what options we had and the cost of each program. We were totally sold when Blaze, Jenn’s crohns alert dog, actually alerted on my son 15 mins before a crohns flare up.

He was right on we could not believe our eyes. The great thing was Jenn offered an Owner training program that was affordable and worth every single dollar.

The program is set up like a private workshop. She was with us every step of the way from picking the right dog, evaluating the litter of puppies, and picking the perfect one for the job. Having not had a dog in years we decided to have Jennifer do a 2 week jump start program where our pup went to her at 3 months old to work on potty training, basic commands, and socialization with Blaze. That was the smartest move because Caleb came home and was such a great calm pup.

We continued the obedience training and Jennifer would come for a 4 day workshop each month to continue the training and socialization and when Caleb was 5 months old we bagan scent discrimination training. He was a natural from the start.

The puppy stage is tough because you have to find that perfect balance with work and training. We fell into a great routine and my son was so excited to get home from school and train Caleb.

Jennifer took Caleb again at 8 months old to do a 4 week board and train to advance all of Caleb’s training and work on Public Access.

Fast Forward Caleb at 11 months was reliably alerting on my son 30-45 mins in advance of a flare up. This gave my son the ability to go to friends houses and even do sleep overs, something he never wanted to do because of his crohns.

Jennifer worked with us for a year and a half and at 18 months Caleb had completed all his training and was a full fledged Crohns Alert Dog. Jennifer provides lifetime support in the form of text, email, and phone consults for all the service dogs she trains. Truthfully Jennifer is a member of our family now and I couldn’t be happier to call her a friend.”  Brent and Rachael, MD

Dovekie

“We live in Southwest Michigan, We have a half Griffon, Dovekie, who, early in 2014, started exhibiting serious behavioral issues. He was a danger in our home -- he charged and tried to bite both my husband and me.  We knew we needed help, so we immediately sought help from a trainer -- and ultimately went through three trainers before we found Jenn.

Each of the first three trainers essentially told us that Dove may be beyond help, and one, after our very first session, suggested that we may have to euthanize him.

We turned to Jenn out of desperation -- after all, she was in Philadelphia, and we're out here in Michigan. We couldn't quite figure out how this was really going to work.

She came highly recommended by others with Griffs though, so we got in touch -- she was our last home. And, to our great joy, Jenn was immediately responsive and helpful.

She asked us to send iPhone videos of the behaviors -- we did -- and she immediately wrote back with very specific observations and a solid plan of action. Within THREE DAYS, from 1,000 miles away, Jenn had managed to make a serious impact, specifically with "Dovekie's Car."

It had gotten to the point where we could not approach "his car" when we took him for a ride; Jenn helped us address his protectiveness in a way that made us feel safe, but also clearly helped him relax.

It seemed almost impossible to us that he made such dramatic progress -- but he did. It was real.We worked with Jenn remotely using iPhone videos for several weeks -- she helped with feeding and other issues, and we continued to see remarkable progress. None of the other trainers had gotten past their second session with Dove, yet somehow Jenn was able to help him, and us, without ever stepping foot in our home.”  Dan and Elizabeth, MI
